First printing, with pictorial advertising in the back of the book showing the latest of Baum's Oz books, Dorothy and the Wizard of Oz (1908). Stamped pictorial cover, red endpapers; profusely illustrated by Neill in color and b/w. An omnibus collected from the publisher's popular "Children's Red Book Series" of classic stories. Includes Little Black Sambo, The Story of Peter Rabbit, Uncle Tom's Cabin, and Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, among many others. A Good copy or better, with moderate soiling to the cover cloth, spine lettering beginning to fade, internally well thumbed and with some pencil writing on the blank pages at the end of the book. Highly sought-after, and very, very scarce in the first printing.
