Early COLOR PLATE reprint, ca. 1929. 12 full color plates. A Very Near Fine copy with a brilliant front cover label, in a Good or better DUST JACKET whose main flaw is a loss at the top of the spine from 1 " to 1 1/2" deep, affecting most of "KABUMPO"; the rear flap lists the Oz titles through Jack Pumpkinhead of Oz. Still, these early color plate copies are very scarce in dust jacket, and this book is priced only a small fraction of what a similar first printing copy would be.

Chicago: Reilly & Lee 1925 Original Cloth Very Good Good 
Late 1950's edition, cloth-bound without cover label. Variant with endpaper illustrations originally used in Baum's 1915 Scarecrow of Oz. A very good copy, with some thin paper remnants from the jacket adhering to the covers. The DUST JACKET is lacking 1 3/4" of the lower spine and has edgewear, thus only good or so, but still looks decent in its mylar protector.

Chicago: Reilly & Lee 1921 Decorative Cloth Good + 
Hardcover. First edition, first printing, with the "Scarecorw's" caption misprint to the plate facing p. 255. Fully illustrated in b/w and with 12 COLOR PLATES by John R. Neill. A Good + copy: outside front gutter beginning to split, modest wear to front cover label, corners bumped,. front inner hinge cracked. Still a solid copy of the true first printing. Although crediting Baum on the cover and title page, with Thompson getting credit for enlarging and editing, the book is actually all Thompson's work and her first contribution to the Oz canon; she held the post of Royal Historian until 1940.
