First printing. SIGNED and NUMBERED LIMITED EDITION, copy #20 of only 50 copies signed by both McGraw and Shanower. Includes a small ORIGINAL DRAWING of the Scarecrow by Eric Shanower on the limitation leaf. McGraw, who died prior to publication, had only signed 50 bookplates for this book before her death, hence the extremely small limitation number. McGraw co-wrote Merry Go Round in Oz (1963), the last of the "Famous Forty" original Oz books, and this was the last book for this 3-time Newbery Honor Award winner. Shanower's illustrations are magnificent. AS NEW in dust jacket and publisher's hand-decorated slipcase. Exceptionally scarce, and a must for the serious Oz collector.
